RemarksVickers Vimy back in service. This aircraft won the England-Australia race in 1919 and it was rebuild in 1994 to make the same trip again, from 11/9 to 22/10/1994. Fortunately, Athens was one of the visited airports!

RemarksThe unique 1935 built Lockheed L-10E Electra, passed through Athens on its way to Le Bourget Air Show. This is Amelia Earhart's aircraft type when she disappeared over Pacific ocean, during her attempt to make a circumnavigational flight on the globe, in 1937.

RemarksPerhaps the only aircraft of a non greek airline carrying a greek flag. Nordic East painted this ex Monarch 737 in Hellas Reisen c/s for charter flights to greek destinations.

RemarksPractically, an airline that didn't ever existed. "Salert Air Charter and Relief Services" of Kenya was due to open in 1994 but finally didn't start up. Strangely, this ex Hemus Air Yak-40 passed through LGAT on its way to Kenya in full Salert c/s. Perhaps, the unique photo of this aircraft on the internet.

RemarksIt was not often to see a Yak-42 in LGAT. This one replaced the usual TU-134 on Lithuanian's schedule flight. On 26/05/2003 operating under Ukranian Mediterranenan Airlines livery, crashed into the side of a mountain, 3,5 km east of Ma?ka, Turkey. All 62 passengers and thirteen crew members were killed.

RemarksMaybe the oldest flying IL-86, only the 2nd aircraft in production line, this Ilyushin carries the basic livery of Vnukovo Airlines with no titles, only from this side. From the other side it's in full c/s, with titles too!
