RemarksSingapore bought and converted a number of ex USN A-4B airframes. They were reworked initially by Lockheed but rather than following the USN in their use of a trainer they added a second cockpit to the single seater!! Later they were re-engined with a GE F404 without afterburner. This one was from 150 Sqn based at Cazaux in France where the RSAF undertook advanced training.

RemarksThis could be a scene from any 1980's airshow as an 11 Sqn Lightning goes through it's start up. Sadly the CAA do not permit complex aircraft like the Lightning to fly in the UK but 3 are preserved in flying condition and do fast taxi runs. Two are based at Bruntingthorpe which is also the current home of the Vulcan.
