RemarksThe first of the RAF's V Bombers, this aircraft was the first to drop a UK Hydrogen Bomb. It is now inside the Cold War Museum but was a surprise catch on a grey spring day.

RemarksWearing the colours of 92 Sqn, with whom she served until 1977, this Lightning then moved to Leuchars as a decoy. The olive green scheme was only worn by the RAFG Lightning squadrons in the 70s.

RemarksIn 1938 19 Squadron received the first Spitfires in to RAF service. To mark the 70th Anniversary of that event this Hawk from RAF Valley was painted in the same scheme as those first Spitfires!

RemarksThis day saw the 50th Anniversary of the Army Air Corps. Members of the AAC wear a distinctive blue beret so the Red Arrows performed a unique flypast as all 10 aircraft trailed blue smoke. There were 10 as they were on their way to another display.
