RemarksBuilt as WM261, this NF.11 never saw military service but operated as a test airframe for Ferranti at Turnhouse. She moved to the museum in 1973 with only 346 flying hours and is believed to be the lowest houred Meteor in existence

RemarksWearing the colours of 92 Sqn, with whom she served until 1977, this Lightning then moved to Leuchars as a decoy. The olive green scheme was only worn by the RAFG Lightning squadrons in the 70s.

RemarksThe RAF''s last passenger Comet ( XR399) entered civvie service in 1975 and for a number of years these were the referred mode of transport for Brits heading to the fleshpots of the Costa del Sol. Finally retired by Dan Air in 1980, it also has the distinction of being the last Comet to fly in commercial colours on delivery to the museum in 1980.

RemarksPainted to represent an aircraft used by the Scottish Ambulance Service although this individual machine never served with them. I assume that the garish yellow colour was for visibility purposes and not to make the patient sick!!
